Freddie's Place
We recently spoke to Don Meek of Freddie's Place to learn more about the Vista institution that has been supporting the Moonlight for many years. Learn more about Freddie's Place and their veterinarian services below.
Tell us about Freddie's Place!
Freddie's Place was created in memory of our wonderful dog, Freddie. He was a therapy dog, a spokes dog for his own canine charity Foundation "A Favor For Freddie", and brand Ambassador for his own monthly line of "deliver to home" dog treats and products called "Freddie's Finds". Freddie was a tireless worker who just made people feel better with his personal brand of love and kindness. Upon his passing we searched for a way to further his good work and help those in need. After a few trips to emergency veterinarian hospitals with our pet and watching the state of everyday wellness animal clinics, we decided to create a place that focused on the pet patient care and not the bottom-line profits. The Freddie's Place Mission is pretty simple; to make pet healthcare affordable and accessible to everyone. We strive to provide old fashioned compassionate and quality care to anyone that chooses to trust us with their beloved pets, and we've assembled the best team of pet lovers and owners available to help those who cannot help themselves. It simply is The Best Care Anywhere.
What’s your favorite part of being a member of the Vista/North County community?
It's so wonderful to be a part of this community of small businesses working together to help each other grow, and to provide a local, personal, unique experience for the citizens that live here. We work closely with the other businesses in the Vista area. Every interaction has been fulfilling and successful for the Freddie's Place family. It's good people, good relationships, and valued partnerships that make us all stronger in this business community.
How long have you been supporting the Moonlight?
We have been great fans of what Moonlight accomplishes for the community for as long as Freddie's Place has been open. It's fantastic to have such a wonderful venue in our own backyard. Frankly, the quality of the performances in this incredible amphitheater is a huge perk for Vista and a blessing to everyone who lives here.
Why do you believe it’s important to support live, local art?
Creative arts are the soul and lifeblood of any community. There's nothing quite like the feel and experience of live theater and concerts. It's wonderful to see all the local up and coming artists getting the recognition they deserve. The live performances bring a certain joy that is unmatched by other sort of entertainment. We also have a great amount of talent here in the Vista/North County area that needs the showcase that the Moonlight venue provides.
